Public Analyst Express Dissatisfaction Over Low Representation Of Women In Federal Cabinet

A public analyst, Mrs. Janet Mba-Afolabi, has expressed dissatisfaction over the low representation of women in the Federal Cabinet.

Mrs Mba-Afolabi stated this in a chat with newsmen in Lagos

According to Mrs. Mba-Afolabi, it is high time women in the country come out en- mass to speak with one voice and claim their rightful positions in politics

Mrs. Mba-Afolabi added that the nation is still backward in women representation in Sub Sahara Africa.

The positions occupied by women in the President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet include the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sa’adiya Umar Farouk; Minister of State Industry, Trade and Investment Ambassador Maryam Y. Katagum; Minister of State Transportation, Sen Gbemisola Saraki; Minister of State Environment, Sharon Ikeazor.

Others are Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed; Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen and the Minister of State Federal Capital Territory, Ramatu Tijjani.
