OGUN NUJ GETS FIRST FEMALE CHAIRMAN.

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ogun state council has produced the first female chairman of the council.
Mrs. Oluremi Olugbenro of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria’s Paramount FM Abeokuta, emerged the new Chairman after she was returned elected unopposed by the NUJ Screening and Credentials committee that conducted the fresh election, following an inconclusive one, held earlier in the year.
The NUJ National headquarters in a statement in Abuja by the Senior Assistant National Secretary, Mr Gbemiga Bamidele, approved the report of the Ogun state Screening and Credentials committee and declared Mrs Olugbenro and six others as duly elected.
Those who also made the list are Olanrewaju Daud as Vice Chairman, Adigun Bunmi, Secretary and Fakeye Simon, Assistant Secretary.
The newly elected Treasurer is Anthony Gandonu, while Oyebade Adegoke is the Financial Secretary and Mr Lawal Abiodun as the Internal Auditor.
Chairman of the Screening and Credentials committee, Mr Lanre Ogunyinka while speaking on the outcome of the election, said only seven forms were sold and returned to the committee for screening.
The inauguration of the newly elected State Working Committee will take place tomorrow Saturday
at the Iwe Iroyin Council Secretariat of the Ogun NUJ, which has been agog, as many members continue to laud the outcome of the election which they described as historic.
