NIS,OGUN State Command To Begin Registration Of Migrants In The State

The Nigeria Immigration Service NIS, Ogun State command has concluded arrangements to commence registration of migrants in the state.

The Ogun NIS Controller, Mrs Doris Braimah made this known when she paid a courtesy visit to the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

Mrs Braimah said the steps would enable the service to have the comprehensive data of all foreigners residing in the country.

She stated that Nigeria immigration service would be proactive in checking immigrants and emigrants at nation’s borders towards ensuring that the nation was devoid of illegal migrants.

Responding, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun who emphasized that migrants registration programme was necessary, stressed the need for NIS to intensify efforts towards ensuring that the nation’s borders were well protected to curb influx of illegal migrants.

Governor Abiodun who pointed out that his administration would not condone crime and criminality, said the state government would continue to interface with the service for effective service delivery.
