Lagos State Governor Reiterates Commitment To Ensuring Improved Security Operations In the State

Tight security is key to actualising a better Lagos and sustaining it’s status as the business hub of the country.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu stated this at the weekend when the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mr Muhammed Adamu, paid him a courtesy visit at the State House, Alausa.

Governor Sanwo-Olu said his administration was committed to ensuring improved security operations to sustain a round the clock commercial activities in the State.

He promised to collaborate with the Police to increase security surveillance at the grassroots through community policing.

The governor demanded more actions from security operatives to curtail pockets of kidnapping, banditry and armed robbery in the South West region.

Responding, the Police boss, Mr. Adamu said his visit was to appreciate the Governor for supporting the State Police Command with One hundred and twenty patrol vehicles and thirty four motorcycles.

Mr. Adamu said the community policing plan had received massive support from local vigilante groups, including the Oodu’a Peoples Congress, which had indicated their readiness to partner with the police.

The visit was the Police boss’ final leg of operational tour of the Southwest region.
