Lagos State Government To Support “Door of Return Tourism Project” in Badagry.

The Lagos State government says its committed to exploring the potentials in tourism by making Badagry an enviable tourist destination.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu stated this when the Chairman of Diaspora Commission, Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa paid him a courtesy visit, at the State House in Marina.

According to Governor Sanwo-Olu, the State government is ready to support the third annual event of ” The Door of Return” Tourism project which was an historical annual event in Lagos state.

Governor Sanwo-Olu noted that the project also fits into his administration’s agenda on Entertainment and Tourism.
Earlier, the Chairman Diaspora Commission Mrs. Dabiri-Erewa explained that this year makes it four hundred years, slaves were taken out of Africa and the Diaspora Commission solicited the support of the Lagos State government to actualize its plan for the celebration.

Our correspondent reports that the event which will take place in October will be herald with the laying of foundation for the Diaspora Palace in Gberefu community in Badagry.
