The planned closure of the Third Mainland Bridge scheduled for today has been shifted to Friday, this weekend.

It will be reopened on the twenty-ninth of the month.

This is contained in a statement by the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Dr Fredrick Oladehinde.

The closure is to enable the contractor to remove, replace and cast in place joint twenty-three.

Joint twenty-three extends two kilometres to Oworoshonki from the present diversion point and will affect commuters going to Yaba via Adekunle, hence there will be no movement on the bridge for the two weeks period.

Dr Oladehinde said that the bridge would also be closed to motorists going to Iyano-Oworo from Yaba through Adekunle and advised them to use Ikorodu Road.
