Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has won the March 9 Governorship election in the state. Governor Wike who ran under the umbrella of the  Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), polled a total of 886,264 votes to defeat his closest contender Biokpomabo Awara of the African Action Congress (AAC), who got 173, 859 votes.
